A Bed & Breakfast with class. Stayed here for one night so we could explore the night life in Alnwick and we were pleasantly surprised. It's in a great location and if you ask at the reception they give you a parking pass so you can park outside. Fresh milk served for your Tea and Coffee (which is freshly ground) as well as a Jar of Cookies. Very clean, gorgeous bathroom and well decorated. Major Thumbs Up!!
Fantastic hotel with dog kennels, felt like being in a 2nd home, the staff are fantastic, the room was perfect and the food was delicious. The staff gave us loads of ideas for walks and pubs in the local area. We took our Springer spaniel and she settled straight away the staff even went to see her in the kennel when we were out for a meal. We will defiantly be back to stay.

Very nice staff and really helpful. Proper Sunday lunch with great Yorkshire puds and gravy. Fill your boots
Lovely staff and a good selection of drinks on offer at this friendly pub. Our party was seated in a lovely newly redecorated side room which was cosy and quiet with direct access to the outside seating for fresh air. The menu has an excellent range to choose from at competitive prices and with a real northern flavour. Definitely worth a look.

What a lovely hotel! 😀 My husband chose it specifically for the nautical theme. Beautiful features from the original RMS Olympic. The staff are all super friendly, easy to have fun banter with at reception and bar and of course exceptionally efficient. Our room was lovely. Really comfy bed, tea and coffee (maybe a few more sachets of coffee please!) and the shower is sublime! We ate both evenings in the restaurant and impressed both times with the food. Thanks for making our weekend away so lovely!! Xxx
We had Afternoon Tea at the White Swan this afternoon. Sandwiches were delicious and we were not able to eat all the cakes and staff packed them up for us to take home. Very nice afternoon we will go back.

We needed somewhere to stay due to attending a wedding in Alnwick. We rang up during the week to see whether we could check in early so we could get ready and were advised they would prioritise our room. We arrived at 11:00 and the room was just ready. The room was what I would politely call compact. No space to put our suitcases and bags. No where to hang clothing up apart from the back of the door. There was barely any room for my wife to do her hair and makeup. We returned at approximately 23:00 after the wedding and the pub was in full swing. Although the room was up a couple of flights of stairs, the noise travelled so don't expect an early night's sleep. Breakfast orders was placed beforehand. Really good selection. Unfortunately when we came down in the morning they forgot to bring over our tea and coffee and then bought over the wrong breakfasts (one of the other two rooms}.
All food was fantastic. Staff where lovely and friendly however we ordered a drink to go with dessert but this only arrived after the bill. Would definitely recommend and go again

Great food and atmosphere. There was a BBQ when we went, and the restaurant was very busy, with all tables reserved! They did manage to slot us in, just because someone cancelled last minute, so we were lucky. Portions were good for the price, and I merrily waddled away following a feast on some of their special smokehouse meat and Broad range of potato sides- I haven't seen potato skins on a menu for a long, long time! Great staff, too, with a really bouncy and friendly vibe.
I've been before and loved it, but my most recent experience of The Dirty Bottles can only be described as mediocre at best. On my first visit the food was outstanding. Ribs would fall off the bone, meat was juicy and tender, and all the flavours were complimentary. This time the ribs were a struggle to separate from the bone, the meat seemed much drier and less tasty, and some of the flavour combinations just didn't work. My starter - the spicy chicken fries - was mainly flavoured by the vinegar from a jar of jalapenos, which wasn't particularly nice. I opted for the curried beans with my main. I chose these as the pit beans I had last time were outstanding. I understand curried beans are perhaps not in keeping with the 'American barbecue' theme of most of the food, but I thought they must be there for a reason, and at this time was basing my decisions on the quality of the last visit. Curried beans should not be on the menu. If I had to hazard a guess as to how they were made, I'd say that some tinned beans had been washed, tossed in some shop-bought curry powder and heated. This visit was such a disappointment, and I hope it was simply an off night.

A lovely cottage with every amenity and spotlessly clean. Great location as well which was a bonus for us as we stayed during the great March snow! As we couldn't travel home we.asked Louise if we could stay on for a night or two and she immediately offered us a discounted rate for the extra night. A very kind and generous gesture. We would recommend the cottage as one.of the.best we have visited and.the hospitality among the.kindest we have experienced.
Fantastic cottages in Alnwick. I have stayed in all of them over the years. Juliet, Peaseblossom and Falsaff are all top notch! Louise is really friendly and super helpful with local recommendations. Northumberland is wonderful!

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
